My new favorite thing on earth: Axe Cop. This web comic is written by a 5yr old kid and drawn by his 29yr old brother. It is everything great about being a kid wrapped into a comic. The complete lack of understanding of the world, the beautiful naivete and simplistic view of the world combined with the unbridled bloodlust of a child. So fucking awesome.

In one choice comic Axe Cop chops off the head of a mermaid with a mean face before realizing all the mermaids have mean faces. Realizing the error in their ways the mermaids apologize to Axe Cop. So fucking brilliant. Is there a better breakdown of cause and effect, consequence and repercussion in the mind of a child… ever? I doubt it.

No I mean it, leave and never come back. It’s every damn awesome action star in the last 20 years coming together to fucking blow shit up and it could not be more kickass!

So much of the time in designer world is spent in theoretical town. Imagining what something will look like when this metallic ink is applied or when this flash piece is all devved out.

Here is a nice service that makes me happy to be a rocking in the Internets prime time: a book creator. Bam! You upload a PDF a few bucks and they send you a decent book at the end of the day. Yummysaurus Rex. This takes away the designer’s typical excuses of costly printing processes. What are we going to complain about now? Still IE6. Anyway, peep it yo!

What can be said about a 2 year dead web comic that changed the world, that hasn’t already been said. Perry Bible Fellowship made me not want to be an artist. It was that good, it stifled competition. It made everyone else look like pikers. It is the pinnacle of its form… and the artist quit!?! He gave up. He might be making awesome stuff somewhere else raking in tons of cash. I don’t care. I want my PBF back! Is it selfish, probably… His comic was like a gorgeous combination of Gary Larson nihilism with hand skills that are 1,000 X better than anyone else in the game. He didn’t have to pin himself down to a particular style, he just did whatever fit the comic.. and he did it immaculately.

He got a book deal, published his book and quit the comic… ARRGHH! That would be like Michael Jordan winning a few championships and then quitting and playing baseball… wait. You get my point. If you are unfamiliar with it, check it out. Soak it up. Enjoy the menagerie.

Sometimes you run across awesome stuffs on the internet between the terrible viral videos and poorly designed sites. This site, La Blogotheque, is that site! It has content so fucking rich you drink it daily and always come back for more… like a chocolate cream pie milkshake laced with heroin. It has live musical experiences in gorgeous roving settings , complete with amazing videography. These bastards capture these amazing moments with some of the best established and up and coming artists of our generation.

Get plugged into these things and fall in love with some new artists and artists you would have never imagined that have the soul they do. Take Jason Mraz strumming and adjusting his song with a woman sitting in the street playing her instrument. He harmonizes with her and makes firecracker magic powder sauce with it. Its delicious. Don’t forget artists like Delta Spirit who break out truly remarkable versions of their songs with more heart than you know what to do with. ARGHHH!! SO GOOOD! Check it out people…
